Last Decade : 10 Accomplishments and 3 Regrets

Written By Esther Davy

January 2, 2020

woah. 10 years are gone.

A LOT has changed for me this past decade. I transformed from a 22 year old college student, to a 32 year old mother, writer, and adventurer. Looking back it’s been a decade of growth and joy with lots of accomplishments and some regrets. Instead of reading this post and thinking, “Wow, Esther is so accomplished” I hope it inspires you to reflect on how much you’ve grown and accomplished these past 10 years.

10 accomplishments

In no particular order….

  • Raising Eleanor and Josephine.
  • Giving birth to them medication free.

  • Growing in Love with Nathan Davy. 11 1/2 years of marriage!
  • Teaching Eleanor and Josephine about Jesus.

  • Developing lifelong friendships with Kate Fields, Emily Wismer, Hadley Manning, and Szmin Harley, and my little sister, Alexandra McLeod.

  • Summit Cotopaxi, a 19,500 foot glacier covered volcano in Ecuador with cramp-ons and ice axe.
  • Buying and renovating our forever home in Golden, Colorado.
  • Discovering and building a career I love and am pretty good at 😉

  • Getting fit and brave enough to ski double black diamond (extreme terrain) at Crested Butte four months after having Eleanor.
  • Graduating from the University of Florida with an Interior Design degree.

3 regrets

  1. Not standing up for my true self.
  2. Letting great friendships fade away.
  3. Tolerating seasons of drought in my faith journey.
