We LOVE this place. We’ve been here with our kids several times in the past 3 years, from infancy to ordering on their own. Of all the Mexican restaurants in Golden, and there are several, this one is our favorite for a casual weeknight dinner with the family. It feels like going to a friends house for dinner, but if your friend made really amazing mexican comfort food and margaritas. This time, we had Camarones Alacran (Bacon wrapped shrimp, Mr Mountaineer’s favorite) and I had Chimichanga de La Casa. Both were classically delicious. I was especially impressed by our server, Adela. She spoke to our one year old sweetly and even though the baby wasn’t ordering anything she made sure she had everything she needed, including extra straws. At one point, Josephine was fussy and I asked Mr Mountaineer to step outside with her. When they came back, our server brought her a couple crackers in a bowl and asked if it was okay for her to have them. We felt so at home there, knowing our kids weren’t a bother, but a welcome part of the El Amigo family.

Come early on the weekends, this place is very popular on Friday and Saturday nights.
